INAUGURATION OF AKISCOM AJAH CHAPTER/SWEARING-IN OF DEACON PROMISE UDOFIA IN PICTURES

AKWA IBOM COMMUNITY, AJAH CHAPTER, LAGOS, INAUGURATES, NEW EXCO













The newly elected executeive officers of Ajah Chapter of Akwa Ibom Community Lagos have been sworn in.
They are: Deacon Promise Udofia, Chairman; Chief Uwemedimo Esu, vice chairman I; Pastor Solomon Mensong, vice chairman II; Mr Smith Uduak, general secretary; Pastor Silvanus Essien, assistant secretary1; Lady Offong Henshaw, assistant secretary II and Edidem David Akpan, treasurer.
Other are: Mr Johnson Isua, Financial Officer; Miss Patience Udoh assistant financial officer; Mr Jackson Edem, public relations officer (PRO);  Mr Benson Ekpo, chief welfare officer; Evang. Mathias Uwem, assistant welfare officer; Mr Richard Moses, social officer; Elder Iniobong Udofia, assistant social officer; Miss Uduak Christopher, internal auditor; Mr andy Lawrence, provost; Mr. Stephen Akpan, assistant provost; Deaconess Ubon Archibong, women leader and Prince Otuekong Cyril, youth leader.
Speaking after the swearing-in of the officers at a colourful event held at the Orjid Bar/ Event Centre, Ogombo, Ajah Lagos, recently, which oath of office was administered by the outgone legal advicer of AKISCOM, Barrister Silas Udo, the outgone president of  the community, Chief Elijah Ifot, said he was pleased that the people despite the challenges they faced during the July flooding which they were affected were still happy working and encouraging community services as well as promoting unity, progress and peaceful co-existence among themselves.
He enjoined them to remain united in love, co-operate and support one another in all they do for the growth of the chapter.
Ifot congratulated the new officers and prayed God to make their good better and their better best, adding that though he had finished his primary assignment as AKISCOM President, he would continue to support stand by them as a father and community ambassador.
In his remark, chairman on the occasion, Col. Brian Efa, who is also the general secretary-elect of AKISCOM Lagos, expressed appreciation to members of the chapter for massively supporting him during the recently concluded general election.
He assured the chapter members that the umbrella body of the community would do everything possible to support and carry them along in all activities.
Speaking on the empowerment of women and youths of the chapter which was part of the activities of the event, Efa while pledging his annual support for the chapter for the next three years called on the intended beneficiaries to pick up a skill or trade to help develop themselves and the economy rather than waiting for white collar jobs that were not existing, congratulating the executive officers and wishing them well in office.
Earlier in his acceptance speech, chairman of the Ajah Chapter of AKISCOM, Deacon Promise Udofia, accepted to serve wholeheartedly, saying it was time to begin a thorough community selfless service for the interest of all Akwa Indigenes in the area to ensure unity of purpose, progress and peaceful co-existence. According to him “this is a brand new beginning of community service in our chapter of Akwa Ibom community in Lagos for the interest of all us in Ajah. For finding me worthy to lead in this axis, I am grateful and I assured you all that our time of jubilee has come. It is time to take the community to higher level; I will not fail. This is my pledge”.
He pointed out that Akwa Ibom Indigenes in the area are peace-loving, hard-working, God-fearing, hence should not be abandoned, saying that much still needed to be done to assist them as the recent flooding which affected them in the area has left a lot to be desired.
High point of the ceremony was the presentation of the chapter’s constitution, lunching N10 million empowerment for women and youths of the chapter and presentation of award to the following personalities; Deacon Emmanuel Udom, Chief Elijah Ifot JP, Chief Mrs. Idongesit Elijah Ifot, Hon. Mfreke Elijah, Hon. Elder Sam Bassy, Amb. Regina Inem, Hon. Gabriel Toby other were Prince Offon Ntofon, Akparawa Ubong Efreso, DFC, Mr. Ime Etuk, Sir Ezekiel Etim, Obong Kingsley Asuquo, Chief Aro Bakare and Sir Oke Adhekegba.
The event was witness by the Baale of Ogombo,HRM Kehinde Ogunbo, who was represent by his son, Samad Ogunbo, Special assistance to the governor on protocol; Hon. Mfreke Elijah, Prince Felix Udoh AKISCOM president-elect, Outgoing and incoming executives of AKISCOM.
